Hey Ed, college pressure guy here. Thanks a bunch for sharing your story and advice about the situation. I'm actually pursuing game design and have been working on my own projects for a few years now (haven't gotten anything major done yet). Right now I am working completely alone (so many hats to wear), and I was wondering. How does I find someone who is actually willing to work with me on a project when there's no guarantee of profit/success?

thats a hard one, do you have past works that you can show to people to get them excited to work with you? i think the only reason anyone wanted to work with me back then was because i had built enough of a name with my flash crap and comics. florian wouldnt have worked with me if i hadnt worked on Gish, i doubt tommy would have either :).

if your idea is really good and you are excited about doing it, it might not be too hard to find the right people that believe the hype and are down with what you wanna do.

try game forums, back in the day tigsource was a good one. maybe try out a game jam and see how you work with random people, build a friendship and go from there.

its not an easy road but its doable.
