THIS IS FINALLY DONE AND I AM SO DONE WITH IT!
I got the yarn in the mail, made the squares, and sewed it all together. that alone took a ton of time. I updated my math.
8 squares per hour: 126/8=15.75 hours to make. but, it took around 20 to sew together. 35 hours of time.
lets say i give myself 2.5 dollars per hour it takes. that alone is around 85 dollars.
also, I can make about 15 squares per skein of yarn. so 126/15= 8.4 skeins of yarn to make the squares. but, it took a ton of yarn to sew it together. so, 10 skeins. each skein of yarn costs 3 dollars on sale, and i got as much as i could on sale, so so thats 30 dollars of yarn.
85 for time+30 for materials+.20 for the listing and + 3.5% for what etsy takes: roughly 120 dollars to buy WITHOUT shipping.
I would feel awful if someone bought this blanket for that much. the max cost without shipping is 100 dollars for this.
stats on it: about 4 feet at its widest and almost 5 at its longest. I will have more detailed numbers when I list the item at thespaceneedle.etsy.com in may of 2015.
