i dont think anything that segregates people into groups who think they are correct and others are all wrong is a good thing in any sense.
at its core i understand why religion is there, its there for comfort and its a much needed comfort that shouldn’t be thought of as a negative. we all want to feel watched over and safe, like a parent is watching over us and that things in the end will all be ok.. i dont see anything to wrong with believing/hoping this, and dont think less of people who do.
organized religion is another story, i think it gives people the wrong type of hope and segregates us more than it brings us together.. hell even all Christians think other sects of the same religion are wrong/bad/dumb/horrible/etc. more harm has been done due to these differences than good.
i think your relationship with god or whatever you believe in is a very personal thing, and i hate responding to these kinda questions because i dont like to be preachy in what i believe because i know the way i feel is personal, but i dont think less of people who practice any religion, i just think less of the ones who believe their way is the only way.
