Thanks for answering my questions Ed, it's very cool of you. 'The Ark Encounter' is a Christian-funded project to build an ark in the US. The ark will be built to the measurements described in the bible & will serve as a tourist attraction/zoo and a place to learn that the earth is 6000yrs old (face-palm). Why do you suppose that some people believe (in one god or another) & others do not? Is it a question of intelligence, laziness, hope..? Thank you.

well that is bound to prove the ark couldn’t ever be real… so i guess its good in that respect.

i think people believe what they are raised to believe without much thought put into it. i also do think hope and the fact that no one know what happens when we die is a giant factor in this.

no one really knows for sure what happens when we die.. most would assume nothing happens because we are dead.. but i think all of us hope something does.. this coupled with how we are raised i think is what makes people believe fantastic things.

i honestly dont believe people who are religious actually believe all of what they say they do, i think deep down they are just hoping its real for piece of mind.

but hey, whatever people want to believe, be, become, or choose is none of anyone elses business but their own. i dont look down on people for what they believe as long as they understand their personal reality isnt shared by anyone other than themselves. piece of mind is a good thing and if religion helps people have it then its what they need to survive .

its just fucked when it spills over into the lives of other people.

bla bla bla yippy yo
