So basically, OP items will work like special items do currently? The "should I take this decent item, or do I want a better OP item later" game continues.

kind of, but the time since there are almost double the items the chances of you rolling or finding another OP item are alot less common.

also the OP item list has been totally changed so it makes sense now..
